<p>If I write Michigan a letter saying that I am still a big fan even though I was deffered will it help? I would be explaining low grades and upward trend, and that I am still interested. Would they read it?</p>

<p>Unfortunately GPA is the #1 criteria in admission. And your grades are very low compared to other OOS applicants. I think they’ll read it, but it won’t help much. They want to see the good grades, and even with a solid first semester, your OOS UM GPA is only around 3.3.</p>
