Illinois Math team State or 2010 to 2100 SAT?

Hey guys, very peculiar question. I qualified for math team state, but just realized I have an SAT on the same day.

So far I’ve taken one SAT and one ACT:
sat was 2010 composite
ACT I will get back in a little bit

I will take another ACT in a week, and will sign up for an ACT in june should I choose to attend state

With 2 SAT dates left, one of which is on the same day as state and another that I need for SAT II, is it better to:
-Attend state and possibly get an award/place well?
-or to ditch math team and take the SAT again, which I am very confident I can get to 2100?

4.8/5 weighted gpa, I went to math state team last year, went to state for jets, have some pretty nice ECs. At the moment I’m leaning to ditching math team; I can still talk about state from sophomore year, mention 6th place regional and qualifying for state but not being able to attend, and hopefully get a boost on my SAT.

Thank you VERY much.

I vote math team. It shows dedication. Are you a junior? If so, you can take the SAT October of Senior Year

Thank you very much, I looked over that and was a little afraid that October SAT might not be graded fast enough, but now that I think about it that’s two months before January 1.

I’ve thought it over and am 100% sure that I will:

Go to state and take the April 22nd(?) ACT, and then depending on score from first ACT I’ll take another ACT on the final test date. I’ll take a second SAT senior year like schoolisfun suggested.

Just to reconfirm, I know the ACT allows you to send certain test scores. If I send one or two, will they know how many I took in total? Although to be honest 3 times doesn’t sound that bad even if they would find out.

Glad to be of help

Another plus point is that you can study more clearly over the summer, with less distractions.

I doubt that the 3 times sounds bad, but most people peak their second time around, so just take that into consideration, although, it may be because they don’t try as hard. So just study and do what you enjoy. Good Luck with the SATs, the math team, getting into college, and life in general! :)

Focus on doing well enough on the ACT that you won’t have to take the SAT anymore.
