<p>It was a disaster when I last took the Math IIC. I had left ~5 blank and I was up to question #45 with 2 minutes left. So I had around blank. I dont know what I was thinking but I filled out C for all 10 of them.</p>
<p>I know about the guessing penalty but what do you guys think? Is it worth the risk? I only got 650 last time. But after prepping, Im confident of at least a 700, shooting for 750. </p>

<p>The Math IIC is famous for its generous curve. Guessing isn’t a terrible idea.</p>
<p>I was stupid!!! For some reason I didn’t think there were point deductions for the wrong answer, so I marked away and ran out of time so I guessed on many. I got 760.
I see that your SAT score is much better than mine; therefore, your math 2c score will probably be higher than mine.</p>

<p>The guessing penalty shouldn’t matter, by randomly guessing you should get the same score as if you didn’t.</p>
<p>if you can make a good guess (eliminate one or more choice) then do it. If not… then do it if you normally guess well, otherwise don’t bother.</p>

<p>The guessing penalty subtracts 1/4th for every wrong answer. By randomly guessing on five problems, you should get 1 of the 5 right. Therefore you’d get 1-4(1/4) = 1-1 = 0</p>
<p>If you can eliminate one choice though, by randomly guessing on 4 questions you should get 1 right and 3 wrong or a net gain of 1/4 of a point for each 4 question, therefore it would probably be worth it.</p>
