Yes, your GPA is top tier worthy. However, GPA is only a part of the whole application. What is your SAT/ACT score? You need to have AT LEAST a 700 in each section. What are your ECs? If you don’t have any that stand out, then your chances will be incredibly slim.

well I have that and this but i’ve been told to focus my extracurriculars and get my test scores up as well

Objective:
SAT I (breakdown): 690CR/740M/780W 11Essay (1430/2210 superscore) taken 3 times
ACT: 31 composite, (31 english/35 math/25 reading/32 science/11 essay) taken twice, will take again in fall.
SAT II: 800 math2, 780 biology m, 710 chemistry, 680 physics, 580 world history (probably won’t report the 680 and 540)
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.95ish 96.5/100 uw, 102.3 w
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 20-30ish/580 probably
AP (place score in parenthesis): World History (4), Statistics (5), waiting on Biology, English language and comp, Physics B, and US History
IB (place score in parenthesis): N/A
Senior Year Course Load: AP Calculus AB, AP Physics C, AP English 12, AP Chemistry, AP Economics, Chamber Orchestra
Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): none really, perfect score on 100 NYSSMA All State audition (waiting for all state and all county orchestras), a bunch of school awards, Long Island Science Congress Honorable Mention. (trying for siemens and intel)

Subjective:
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Foreign Language Honor Society, History Honor Society, National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society (Vice President), Class Government, Science Club (Secretary), Debate Team, History Club, Math Team, History Bowl/Quiz Bowl Team, Environthon (Treasurer), Tri-M Music Honor Society, Varsity Volleyball
Job/Work Experience: none (is this bad?)

Summer Activities: S.A.R.A.S. (Science and Research Awareness Series), High School Research Program at BNL, Volleyball leagues and camps, vacation to Philippines, violin recitals for the past 10 years, Baseball from 9th grade back

Don’t worry! You might have a chance at the best of the best schools, but it is also likely that you will be rejected. However, you never know, I might be wrong right now and you might be accepted into an Ivy or another top tier university. But if you don’t get in schools that prestigious, I still think you have a very very good shot at a decent university. If you don’t get into a top tier undergraduate school, your life is NOT over. What matters is your graduate school. If you do well at a decent undergraduate university, and really show your passion and do something extremely unique, then you can have an excellent shot at a top graduate school, which is what matters more than a undergraduate school. Life is too short to be stressing about everything. Just remember to ALWAYS have fun while you are attempting to get into a good college. Work hard, but always have fun. Ask yourself, “What is the point of life if I’m are always stressing and not having any fun?” Again, your life is not over if you don’t get into the best undergrad school, just move on and aim for the best grad school. Good luck, I know that you will end up as a highly successful person in the future!

Thanks a lot!

bump. Any other advice?

I’d say that you are in at the top schools. Just gotta focus more on the ec’s, becuz the test scores and gpa are def there. I know some Asians that got accepted to Cornell brown etc with 31 act’s, 2200 superscored sat’s. But keep in mind that they had great ec’s. In the end, the ec’s are very very very important.

I’m def not in the top schools. but thx for the encouragement. bump?

What is your role in Class Government?

Uh participant? I’m not even in it anymore. I don’t do anything in that so I just focus on the other stuff

What is your best SAT score (not superscored)?

2130 610r 740m 780w

ok last time. Are ivies a far far far reach? a far far reach? a far reach? a reach? or slightly below reach? like a low reach maybe? lol so anxious

Ivys are far reaches for EVERYBODY. But you definitely have a decent shot. I would apply to a couple if I were you. But remember, ivies are not necessarily the best schools for you. Look at other high ranked public and private universities.

I can’t believe how anxious I am. It’s not even close to when we find out whether we are accepted or not. Thanks for da advice dawg

bump???

Your ACT and GPA are near the 25% of admission stat for Ivies. Your SAT1 is between 25% and 50%. You do have a chance but not very high.

ok thanks for the opinion

Definitely top tier worthy, quit worrying! Top tiers are hard for everyone to get into, although, based on your GPA alone, with what youve given us. It’s not unrealistic to say that you could get in to them!

Chance me back please?

bump? I like other people’s opinions :)
