letter to the coach

<p>so, i got a letter from the coach of the eq. team at W&L. nothing special, looks like a default thing with my name at the top. but it has a form for me to fill out and send in, so i filled it out. but I’m wondering if i should attach a letter to it. the questions it asks me are about competitions. Now, i have done a lot of horse shows. Like, a lot. But I havent done more than twenty in the past two years. Back when I was doing horse shows I was winning like crazy. But now I dont horse show anymore because I fox-hunt. [drag-hunting, meaning we dont chase a live animal, just a scent that has been dragged] I am in a position of leadership with this organization and have been doing this for six years. I have done competitions for this organization and won them all. Like hunter trials and paces [which are kind of like races except there’s like 20 of them over the course of the year and you have to be closest to a set time and it’s over a distance of about 11miles so youre not going kentucky derby fast]</p>

<p>So, this is a crazy long post. but my question is. should i write a letter explaining that i dont horse show often, but when i did i showed at the 3’ level, but now i can jump higher, and i do show occasionally. but mostly i do the above. I also live on a farm and train horses and teach other people how to ride and play polo and blah blah blah.</p>

<p>if you read all that, tell me whatcha think lol.</p>

<p>If you’re really interested in the school, definitely begin an email conversation with the coach. It can be very casual and friendly, don’t get too worked up about it.</p>

<p>I think you should return the form filleld out a completely as possible, and with a letter attached stating what you said in your opening post. It sounds very thoughtful and knowledgeable, and in a specialized area like this I imagine the background you have described will make a lot of sense to the coach.</p>
