Do you know of any acceptances/rejections/waitlists that you think would be considered highly controversial by the admissions committees that made those decisions (in other words, cases that incited the most intense deliberations)? Not necessarily URMs and recruited athletes but say someone with some extraordinary quality that overshadowed a mediocre GPA? If you personally know the person, do you think he or she deserves whatever decision he/she got? What made the particular case compelling?

Abd when you answer please let us know what which college admission committee that you sit.
While every one can speculate until the cows come home, the people on the admission committee are the only ones who truly know why a student is accepted or rejected at their school.
