my college safey... international student

I’m planning to do early action for Boston College music major.
I have 2000 SAT 1
107 toefl
cumulative GPA over 3.9 - it improved from 3.75 freshman year constantly and never dropped
10 full extracurricular activities (4 of them music group like accapella and stuffs)
hmm
oh yes, I’m gonna take sat 2 math 1 and U.S. history this October and right away submit the score before the deadline…

Yes, it’s little bit rough because heard Ivy students consider Boston as safety… :frowning:
Anyway
for regular action. what should be my safety school???

I am also considering the entire UC system.
thanks!

If you don’t apply for aid: high match.
I think you have a real shot…

Ace your SAT IIs… You can even have a good chance at Ivies…

A safety has to be affordable. Will your parents pay all costs for BC or UC’s? If not, they’re not safeties.

Thanks! Yes they can afford both. But how good my sat2 has to be??

I would not consider Boston College a safety for you, all the more so because of your question regarding SAT 2 scores.

You definitely have a shot at BC, but it is not a safety. Look up their 25/75 percentile SAT scores - they are often around 1900/2170, so I would guess a 2000 SAT score is about 40th percentile for BC. Full pay international is a plus, but it matters where you are coming from internationally (do they have a lot or very few applicants from there). You’d look stronger if you took the Math level 2 SAT2 instead of math 1.
Good luck!
