<p>My son hopes to apply to some of the top film schools: USC, NYU, FSU, etc. He has solid film EC’s (has won film festival awards, is teaching a class on filmmaking, interned on a feature film, etc.), and he has tons of one other EC…Civil Air Patrol (CAP). CAP is an auxiliary of the Air Force. S has had lots of leadership positions through CAP and has attended various selective summer programs, also. I am wondering if he should play down his CAP involvement in his applications, as the arts community is not typically pro-military. By the way, S will likely be applying for an ROTC scholarship to fund his education, so it won’t be a big secret or anything.</p>

they still support the us air force. they generally just dislike the War in Iraq, not the soldiers.</p>
