Recommendation from Yale Professor....will it help me?

My dad knows one of the top economics professors at Yale, and he set up an interview for me. I met with the guy for an hour and half and he said he would be delighted to send a note over to the director of admissions, who happens to be one of his best friends. Will something like this hold any weight?

this was back in january by the way, so it wasnt a last minute thing or anything

My SATIs arent exceptional, but I think my GPA was okay, and my curriculum was pretty much as rigorous as it could have been

SAT: 730CR 710M 730W

SAT IIs: 800 French, 800 Spanish, 750 Biology

GPA: 4.0 UW, 4.5W

Rank: top 3%

Other stats: AP Biology 5, AP Spanish 5, AP Calculus AB 4, AP English 4

Current Classes:
AP English Lit
AP French
AP Calculus BC
AP Spanish Lit
AP Macroeconomics
AP Microeconomics
Mandarin II
Physics H.

and my midyear report was straight A's across the board with a few A+'s (French, Mandarin, Econ)

2170 is good, im not really complaining, but it doesnt set me apart

Ex Mexican president? Or does he teach something else?
