could you give us some examples? i mean give us some interesting stories we can use for our essays. i have no knowledge bank for sat questions, they are just so broad! its not like apush where you write about history you have been studying for a year. give us some examples/stories you would use for sat's.

for example someone in our school drew a picture of a modern day person wearing a shirt with the peace symbol. the peace symbol is a dove's leg and has three toes or talons. the person made a mistake and only drew 2 toes. she forgot the middle and changed the meaning from peace to to the mercedes-benz symbol. this represents the shift from the peace loving 70's to the materialistic 80's and today.

see this can be fun! tell some stories we can use for essay examples. And HURRY!!! the sat is tommorow! if you have a story now is the time to post!

I used only two examples, both from literature, and got a 12.

I think they really like examples from lit. A few examples that are good for essays: Night by Elie Wiesel (?), 1984 by Orwell, Brave New World by Huxley, Shakespeare's plays, The Crucible by Arthur Miller

if at all possible, use a piece of history and a work of literature from or relating to that time period. they love that! ex. huck finn & civil war

lol yeah the 6's seem to be skewed to those who use literature. well great i just read the crucible (we did a readers theater, i was mary warren, to bad im a guy.

How important is referencing the quote? i never use it. anyone have any ideas?

all i have to say is that I OWN the essay, 1 example from history, 1 example from literature. It was cool because I took the essay and used an example from the history stuff i learned the other day from class. I included specific names, dates, etc.

Advice: For books you have read, go and read the SparkNotes plot summary, right now. Looking at the themes is also a good idea. It'll refresh your memory and give you some ideas.

I got an 11/12 and used no literature/history/current events. I just included stuff from my daily life...I think that could be easier for you than writing about lit or hist. Although I am thinking on using those kind of examples for my next retake.
