Hi y’all,

I am currently a first-year student at a Canadian university, switching over to liberal arts for my second year to study economics, with the goal of transferring to a more prestigious institution elsewhere in the world for my last two years of undergraduate schooling.

I am looking for schools that offer an Economics program with a focus on real-world finance applications. So far I’ve only found three that have piqued my interests; are there any other schools in the US (or even in Europe) I should consider?

1) Claremont McKenna is the only school I’ve found that explicitly offers a “Financial Economics” major; they have a host of interesting courses required for this major.

2) NYU’s economics program offers a focus in either “policy” or “theory”, with the courses labeled “theory” appealing much more to my academic ambitions.

3) I know U of Chicago has a world-renowned economics program, and going through their course offerings I can see a number of courses that interest me and involve the study of finance.

I am convinced CC regulars will have a MUCH better list than my paltry collection of three schools :)
