So where do all the semi-exclusive members go?

<p>where do these people go? do the 2200-2300 people have chances at HYPSMC</p>

<p>Some will go to elite schools, some to small LACs, some to their state uni because of $$. Some test well but aren’t actually that impressive as candidates overall (don’t have the GPA and extracurrics to back it up). </p>

<p>SAT scores alone do not one’s chances make.</p>

<p>Cornell and Penn together have about 5,500 freshman. Alternately, Harvard, Yale, and Stanford together have about 5000 freshmen. That leaves plenty of schools open for the other 17,000.</p>

<p>Of course, you’re assuming that the 5,000 and 17,000 are all seniors.</p>

<p>17,000 is very small in comparison to the number of places available at elite universities. Is 17,000 only in US or worldwide? where did you get this info?</p>
