I'm plannging to retake the sat in January for the 4th time...
after i have sent out all my application and collegeboard scores.
if i do amazingly well on it, i'm going to rush the score to the colleges(after the scores are up online)

if my scores dont improve significantly, i wont send the score and my colleges will never know.

will this work?

people usually say that taking the sat more than 3 times is a bad idea.
why? do colleges really "look down" on it? even though if it's like 2350+?
and what does "look down on it" mean?

There have been many threads on this topic. The general consensus is that it does NOT matter how many times you take it. I actually called Stanford, Harvard, and the UC system to confirm it- it does not affect admissions in any way.

just remember, colleges will see ALL of your scores and thats the bearing it has on your application. taking it a 4th time might be a tad bit unreasonable but hey if you think you can do better, take it again (i did)
