Is it possible to work / volunteer in this short of time frame? I’m looking to build more ECs to put on my resume. TIA.

I assume you’re referring to the time frame of now and May or so when applications needs to be submitted. Anyway, if you’re waiting until the 11th hour to add new ECs, this does not show any sort of commitment to your cause. This is commonly referred to as “resume loading” by the adcoms, and it clearly stands out as something donely solely because you think it would look good on your resume. Exceptions would be something that can only be done at the end of the school year (eg. chairperson of your graduation committee) or something which is open to competition (eg. interning with your senator).
Your best bet would be to expand your existing ECs to take on additional responsibilities/projects/positions.

Sorry, I didn’t specify the time frame. I was in a hurry to get to school. Anyways, what I meant by a “short time frame” was 1 month.

This may sound strange but does giving blood count as volunteer work?

Only if you’re trying to transfer into Columbia Pacific University. Not only would they highly regard your blood donor volunteer work, they might even give you course credit for it towards their medical program.

I guess…but do the following:
Activity: Give blood
How many times a week: 3
How many weeks a year: 32
Do you plan on continuing X in our college?: If I have any left, yes

just say volunteer work :)

I worked first semester but I quit. Tomorrow there is a internship fair at my college, they’re probably not looking for freshman but worth a try. I think what ever you have is good unless its like you list 10 ec’s that you JUST recently started doing.

hahaha. That is amusing.

Hmm cant seem to edit again, i meant

there a lot of places that will take u if u wanna volunteer. not lawyer type volunteering though

highschoolda, thanks for that. I actually have to go back to interning at a law firm in March but I just wanted something to do in the meantime. I am so bored if just going to school and coming straight home. I want to work. Moreover, I want money!
