UCLA Appeal

Hello! I have finished and turned in my appeal on Wednesday of last week and I was wondering how I would be able to check the status of my appeal, along with the decision. If anybody could let me know, that would be great!

I think it's on the admission decisions site-- your status should change, or it should say something about how the office of admissions received your appeals letter

by that do you mean where I checked to find the rejection? if so, that hasn't changed. I sure hope it got to the right place, though I did give it to them in person so that shouldn't be an issue. would the fact that its spring break mean they wont get it immediately?

It takes around a month for them to give you back a decision, relax brotha.

Hey Devdili!
I actually submitted an appeal around a week/week and a half ago, and I just checked the "admission decision" page again. They updated me with this message:

March 30, 2010
UCLA Student ID: --___
My Name

Dear _________:

We have received your letter asking that we reconsider our admission decision for Fall Quarter 2010. We are in the process of reviewing your record again.

If your name and contact information listed above is incorrect, please notify us.

UCLA Undergraduate Admissions
and Relations with Schools

Hope this helps!

jumbledkid, thank you for the help! i just checked today too and it happened to have changed for me as well!
good luck when the results come back!

My friend found out 5 days after he appealed that he was accepted. But he appealed immediately, probably before they got a bunch of appeals.

For my friend (who applied 2 years ago), his appeal results came out 2 weeks after he submitted it. For my other friend, it took a lil longerl. The first friend had a great appeal letter though and it was based on new and compelling evidence.

do we find out their appeal decision on the same "admission decision" page?

Yeah. 10char

what was the new and compelling info he put down?

the wait is killing me... my status just changed today

the wait is killing me as well....I turned it in about 3 and a half weeks ago and I would just like to know the results, good or bad.

i submitted mine more than a month ago, finally reached the office of admissions, and they said to wait longer -_-

.... so after waiting for 5 weeks, coming into the admissions office several times, and having my school contact the president of admissions several times, my decision finally came out and.... im going to Berkeley instead!

argh still waiting for my decision, but its only been a week :( My letter of rec took a while to materialize.

I hope they reply by next friday

I have question regarding your appeals process. How did you provide evidence for justifiable cause? Second, were you able to get specific information on your admissions decision?

Mine took exactly 2 weeks.

Where can I reapply for UCLA? Should I get a letter of recommendation as well? Thanks in advance!!!

So far, mine has taken 4.5 weeks, and still no response.
adgriangreen, you just must give new information that was not on your original application that makes you seem like a better candidate for the school. also, I do not think that you can get specific information on your admission decision but I am unsure.
CyrusOmega, one could appeal to UCLA for a second look, but that was due April 15th, so it is too late now.
