<p>If THEY (whoever they are) did not specify and you have THEIR phone number, I would recommend a telephone call. That way, THEY know that you know, you know that THEY know that you know, THEY know that you know that THEY know that you know (and so on ad infinitum) that the appointment is set all in one fell swoop. In the event that they did want something more formal, they can also tell you that over the phone.</p>
