Verbal = dumb luck?

First Powerprep, taken around midnight, no prior studying: 800Q 570V
Second Powerprep, 1.5 hours later: 800Q, 640V
Slept.
Actual test, taken at noon, no other studying: 780Q, 710V

***? 570V to 710V in hours with no external aids other than these two Powerprep tries. No overlap in tested vocabulary that I can remember and I put in full effort all three times. Why is this test taken seriously?

By the way, would anyone else trade 100V for those last 20 points on Q? lol...

I don’t think it’s dumb luck, it’s more like you’re already good in Verbal that your average is somewhere between 600-700. The 570 one is probably a fluke since it’s your first test, and you got 710 because you did better on the first 10 question than the 640 one.

I would take the higher verbal score… But hey, I’m looking for a PhD in English… :)
