Where will EA be most benificial?

I am a top student in Southern California, and I think I have a chance to get into some top universities. I am planning on applying early action, but I want to make sure that the advantage this gives me (if it gives any advantage) is maximized.

I am going to either apply to Yale or Stanford EA, can anyone give me concrete evidence of one being better than the other? I have heard rumors that Yale uses the EA applications to fill the sports teams, but some statistical data would be appreciated.

Thanks,
–Dan

The main difference between applying EA to Y & S is that S defers relatively few applicants, preferring to accept or deny; while Y defers about half of the early candidates.

All schools use early admissions to get recruited athletes.

While EA stats are available on the CDS, they don’t include data broken out for deferrals, athletes, etc.
