Why aren't admission percentages for Nursing majors listed?

Yes, the UC data is very helpful. Even though the specific data can’t be applied to freshman applicants, I view the relative competitiveness ranking of different majors as likely the same across freshman and transfers. If computer science is ultracompetitive for transfers, it’s going to be the same story for freshmen.

I feel her pain - as a parent who has been through this with one other child 5 years ago I would have to say it is even more competitive and difficult to navigate!

Thanks for that info - we did consider Elon but when you take into account it is BRAND new - there are too many worries about that - who is teaching, they have not had time to develop those all important clinical partnerships with hospitals, schools, shelters. And the most important their NCLEX pass rate is unknown and since this is THE standard one should be looking for in a great Nursing school the “unknown” was too big for us to want to consider it and spend the $ to apply. But Thank You! for the other info!

Which is why my two children have only applied to direct admits programs. It is not worth the chance to not get in to one that is not.

But pay attention to the weed-out requirements at direct admit programs. Some have considerably higher grade and GPA requirements than others.

The “weed out” process comes as part of the “admission process”.

A direct admit nursing program may have high college GPA requirements to stay in the program.
