<p>Okay I will correct you…the “typical American Catholic” is anything BUT liberal, but I guess it depends on where you live. Sure, all the northeastern Catholics that live in Boston are socially liberal, but they are nothing like Catholics in Texas.</p>

<p>I think this is a dilemma for you based on region and not religion. The average joe in Texas is politically different than the average joe in Boston. :), the religion I think is somewhat irrelevant. However, I have heard that the US catholic is not completely adherent to the doctrine of the church and thats why I suspect you might actually find many Catholics to not bother you.</p>
