Oh yes, I'm fairly certain your in (although your SAT verbal score's a bit low--but I'm guessing you're applying for science or engineering or something.) I live in College Station, and know lots of people with lower stats than yours who have been accepted. You might want to fill out the scholarship application, too. It's also nice that you're strong in French.
    Good Luck, anyway!

maybe. try getting ranked in the top 10% in your class because, by tx law, you automatically get accepted to any public/state university in tx if you are.

How competitive is admission into TAMU for out-of-state students? Business School in particular.

The Business school is one of the harder to get into SAT's really need to be around 1300 or better. If you are in the top 10% you can get in to A&m automatic even for out of state I think.

1270 sat and just put general studies prob go business but was advised easier to get in this way ( all same core courses anyway) and as long as GPA is good could go into major

It may be too late for you guys for this year, but taking an SAT test prep course can get you over that "magical" 1300 that will ensure automatic admission. There are lots of different SAT prep courses out there. My son took a Testmasters course ( www.testmasters.com ) and his score went from a 1200 to a 1370. It takes a month or 6 weeks to go through the program, and then the more practice tests you do after that (Testmasters provides them), the better you'll do on your real SAT.

Agricultual & Mechanical ....that's why they're called "Aggies"

They used to be known as "farmers" before they were known as "Aggies".

It is a great school, and even though applying to 10 or so more Northern, more "known" universities I might get into a few of them, I think I'll end up going to A&M on Academic Admit.

And kav, you are in, those are good looking stats.

Just curious....I saw that my recommendation for an SAT prep course was *'ed out. Did I do something wrong by recommending a specific company?
