dramamom - The programs in post #24 in red are all BFAs that do not require a student to audition to enter into the BFA program. And there is no later audition for you to continue in the BFA, although there may be "juries" or similar assessments for some of these just as there are for auditioned BFAs. The programs not in red are where a student enters in as a BA and has to audition for the BFA later on or enters in as a BFA but has to audition to stay in the BFA. Make sense?

How about if we re-do the list into categories instead of color-coding it? And please only post about schools you know about for sure. If anyone has updates to the list, it will be greatly appreciated.

Actually - if someone redoes the list, could we PLEASE start the thread again with a corrected title? This thread is very hard to search for with the typo.

^^I changed the spelling to this thread's title so that it can be searchable by others.

West Virginia University also has a BFA program that requires an audition sophomore year. Students who do not pass the audition can stay in the BA program. The one graduate I know from the program really enjoyed it. He's working now in Hollywood in production, though he really wants to act.

Nebraska Wesleyan does require an audition to get into the BFA program. They also require a prescreen

From their website "Candidates must audition to enter Nebraska Wesleyan’s BFA programs in acting and musical theatre.

To audition on campus or at one of the national or regional audition locations, all NWU Theatre BFA applicants must first submit pre-screening materials"

UC Irvine's BFA is musical theater only. An acting student would receive a BA in Drama with possible Honors in Acting. The process is complicated.
