Has anybody from a previous year got accepted for TAG while taking math in Fall?

I'm assuming I'm not eligible for TAG because I still haven't taken my math class. Right now I'm part way through a self paced math class that is only worth 2 units- I'll definitely have it finished in a month and it will be listed on my transcript as taken in Summer 2012, but it's still only 2 units. In the Fall, I'll be taking 3 unit Calc 1 and 4 unit Statistics so I know I'll definitely have my math requirement fulfilled for regular admissions.

Basically, has anyone from a past year either gotten their TAG approved with only a 2 unit math class or waited till the Fall semester to take the math?

I'm interested in UCI btw.

Have you checked Davis? I think they might not require it to be done by Fall.

Davis and Santa Cruz are the only UCs that allow math to be completed by spring 2013 for fall 2013.

Unfortunately, I'm not interested in Davis. If I don't get into UCB, UCLA, or UCI then I'll just wait another year and apply for 2014.

Well, Irvine for sure requires that you have it done. So there's no chance you'd be approved for TAG. Though of course that does not mean you won't be accepted through regular admission.

Yeah UCI is pretty strict about it, says Summer 2012 on the matrix for math

if you can't tag, why give up till next year?; having TAG doesn't mean that its the end of the game for you...many people that applied last fall didn't get into their TAG schools but eventually went some place else. I never TAG'd and believed I had a fair chance as the TAG people. So I would still apply the normal UC application

Davis is a very good school; you should at least add UCSB/UCD in; just in case

I meant if I don't get into UCI, UCB, or UCLA I will apply again next year. I won't TAG to UCD or any other UC with less TAG requirements than UCI just to have a safety school. I am aware that UCD and UCSB are good schools but location is too important to me. I'd rather stay another year at a community college than live in Davis or Santa Barbara.
