Did anyone get an email to encourage you to apply for the Bob Kelly Scholarship at UCSD?

Hey! I had UCSD admission officer visit my college today and she said that they are pulling very few people from the waitlist. She was talking to a student who was a biology major so Idk if this only applies to bio majors or all.

@tacoturnup Do you attend San Diego City College?

    Bob Kelly Scholarship applicants must:

Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year
Be at least 21 years old
Currently attend San Diego City College
Plan to transfer to UC San Diego and enroll full-time in fall (must be on the path to successfully complete the requirements for acceptance to UCSD)
Have a commitment to making their community a better place as demonstrated by their community service or extra-curricular activities
    Have a demonstrated financial need

    @ishitak Dam.

It seems that way - nobody here has gotten off thus far. Quite a lot different from last year...

Hi guys I don’t think you should be discouraged because the admissions team never knows how many people will SIR to UCSD despite their major so until June 1st I don’t think any of you should worry. And whatever that admissions counselor or rep said they won’t have the total number until after June 1st

Valid point but they do know if they over-admitted or admitted the amount of people they have slots for. Let’s hope everyone who got in declines hehe

It makes things much more difficult if we're taken off the list well into June... so it is disappointing regardless. It sounds like they over-accepted students this year (last year they under-accepted).

@tacoturnup Yep, I got one too. Feels kinda funny applying for the scholarship not knowing if I'll alctually be admitted or not but what the hell.

Anyone else have this on their portal? I'm pretty sure this is an error since something like this happened last year as well:

"We wish to inform you that our transfer enrollment goals for the academic year have been met and we are unable to offer admission from the freshman waitlist. We appreciate your continued interest in UC San Diego and wish you the best in pursuit of your educational goals."

    Me too,
Before that sentence it also says
“Please be patient, as this process may take some time. We will release final application decisions to this Applicant Portal by the end of July.”
I’m like, what, wait, end of July?! Hell no
    Way too far!
