How many subjects / courses do you have to take in freshman year of university?

    Is this definitely intended for the UK forum?
    The vast majority you only study one subject throughout your degree, unless you have chosen combined or joint honours. A handful, mostly in Scotland, allow three the first year.
    How many classes will depend on how that particular degree is structured.
