Reasons behind Admissions not considering SAT scores

Hey ppl,

I am an international student from Singapore, and I recently enquired if UBC would consider my SAT scores for admission along with my A Levels and O Levels. However, admissions replied that they would not consider my SAT scores. I did not ask for a reason, but I reckon its because I studied under the "British system" and I must be measured solely upon British matriculation standards and not American? Can anyone shed some light on this.. thanks.
