interpreting by interpolation, the likely, presumed question was whether Cal Day was worth traveling to from out of state.

It is a great chance to see the breadth and depth of the school and visit facilities that are not normally open for touring, but the answer will depend on how far out of state, how much the travel will cost, and what financial situation you and your parents are in.

For someone who has Cal as a leading choice, even if not absolutely set yet on Berkeley, it is a great chance to assess it at all levels from gut reactions to detailed information. If the flight is from a neighboring state or at a very low rate and this is not a hardship or burden on the student's family, the case may be easier to justify.

If, on the other hand, Cal is just one of many or not that likely to be your final choice, it may be less justifiable.

Any guidance on parking on Cal Day? We're driving up that morning and I've heard in general that parking around campus is difficult any time....like for football games, I've heard to forget about driving. Thanks for any insight.

^are you staying at a hotel are going from the airport directly to Cal? I don't think parking on campus on that day would be a good idea.

Driving up that morning from San Luis Obispo. Our hotel for Saturday night in Berkeley is a couple of blocks from campus but unfortunately I found out they use a public parking structure across the street. I'm guessing that structure will be a popular place to park that Saturday.
