How feasible is double majoring in L&S? For bio and econ for example?

Count credit units you need for each of the following:

    A. First major.
    B. Second major, excluding overlap with first major.
    C. Breadth requirements, excluding overlap with majors.

If the total is fewer than 120, then it is likely that you can fit both majors in your 8 semesters of normal course loads (average 15 units per semester). If it is greater than 120, then you may have to overload to finish in 8 semesters.

If the majors require incompatible courses (e.g. economics wants Math 1A and 1B but biology (MCB or IB) wants Math 10A and 10B), you need to ask the departments what courses you should take.

@ucbalumnus thanks for the answer. I was wondering though, aren't breadth requirements a one time thing and not specific to the major? Like no matter which or how many majors you do, aren't the breadth requirements the same?

Yes, they are the same for all L&S students, but courses used for your major requirements can also be used to satisfy breadth requirements. For example, if you major in economics, your economics courses will count toward the L&S social and behavioral science breadth category. If you major in biology, your biology and chemistry courses will count toward the L&S biological science and physical science breadth categories.

Here are the L&S breadth and other general requirements:
