Hey, I'm from Malaysia and I've recently got waitlisted in UC Davis and I gotta write a 200-word essay. So I was wondering if anyone could go through and correct or suggest anything? Thank you!

UC Davis is the perfect choice for me, as I have always been active in students clubs and UC Davis has many clubs, which are appealing! Participating in clubs has helped improve my personal development. Since December, I’ve recently been promoted into the BOD of the Actuarial Science Society and playing a major role in planning an event. UC Davis is well known for the arts and culture, which is my passion. Growing up, I’ve always loved performing. I’m a self-taught guitarist and pianist since I was 9 as we weren’t able to afford lessons at that time. So, I look forward in joining any theater or music events!

Growing up, my parents instilled in me the importance of an education. My mother was a dropout while my father pursued his higher education though the struggles he faced. While it was difficult for them to obtain education, to me, it handed. They have always taught me to always aim high. Hence, the reason I choose UC Davis. Besides, having an excellent education, UC Davis has a beautiful campus where students could ride bikes and lots of grassy space to relax on, which was something I never really got to experience.
