How many units is too many?

I was thinking of taking 4 4 unit classes this quarter as a freshman- all classes that I'm interested in. Is this too many units to handle as a first year student? Or do you think I have room to even add another seminar?

13-15 units is the recommended # of units for in-coming Freshman for Fall quarter, just to give you time to acclimate to the fast pace of the quarter system and college in general. 16 units is doable depending upon which 4 classes you plan to take and I would not add anymore than this.

Just my advice as a parent that was on the quarter system in college along with my son’s experience as a UCD student.
