CHANCES ON UC DAVIS LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE

liam12342liam12342 6 replies1 postsRegistered User New Member
Helloooooooooooo guys
I am going to be a senior next year, andI wants to get into UC DAVIS.
My gpa is 3.59 weighted, 3.5 unweighted. 1 AP classes for junior year and 3 for next year. 1190 SAT(Hopefully will better on August)
Taking SAT Subject Math 2 and Physics soon.
Not that much of ECs, but not lack of them either( About 150+ hrs on volunteering, join few clubs, and Autodesk Inventor Certificated.)
First Generation to College and I am an immigrant (Came here at 2015)
And I am going to do the early decision/ action as well.
Title says all... Do you guys have any ideas of the landscape architecture in UC Davis? For example, what are some of the stats of the freshman who get into that class?
Thank you!!

    Welcome to College Confidential.
UC Davis only offers Regular decision so Early Decision/Early Action is not an option. You apply by November 30th and you will receive your decision in March.

I will post UC Davis admit information for all Freshman and not major specific.
You need to calculate your UC capped weighted GPA using this calculator and UC’s only use 10-11th grades. https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Being first generation is helpful, but it will not make up for lower than average stats. I would say UCD is a Reach school based on your posted GPA which is below the 8th percentile and test scores which are below the 25th percentile along with a lack of HS course rigor.

2018 Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.40-3.79 capped weighted and not major specific:
    UCD: 14%
2018 UC capped weighted GPA averages:
    UCD: 4.11
    25th-75th percentile for SAT scores:
    UCD: 1220-1480
    Pre-Landscape Architecture:
Students who wish to major in landscape architecture must apply to “Landscape Architecture, Pre-.” Admission to UC Davis in Landscape Architecture, Pre- does not guarantee admission to the landscape architecture major. After enrolling, students must submit a portfolio application to the landscape architecture program in February for formal acceptance to the major.

If you are set on Landscape Architecture, I would suggest Cal Poly Pomona which has a well respected program and more within your Reach.

    I have a question.
So the only UCs that offer early decision/ actions are UC Santa Cruz, UC Riverside, and UC Merced right?
And Thank you for all you said, Gumbymom. Your response is very helpful for me!

    WHATTTTT
I went to the UC offical website just now.
In "How to apply" site, I found out that
    July 1
Winter/spring 2020 application opens for Merced, Riverside and Santa Cruz
    and
    August 1
Application opens for applicants for fall 2020
What do they mean Gumbymom? And Thank you again!

What you are looking at are dates for transfers not first time Freshman. All the UC’s only accept Freshman during the Fall application season which would be Fall 2020 and the UC application opens August 1 and has to be submitted by November 30th. Acceptances will be posted in March 2020 for Fall 2020 Freshman.

Here is the complete UC GPA admit data. What other major would you be interested in pursing besides Landscape Architecture? UC Merced would be a possibility and many of the Cal states such as Cal Poly as I mentioned.

    UCB: 1%
    UCLA: 2%
    UCSD: 7%
    UCSB: 8%
    UCI: 7%
    UCD: 14%
    UCSC: 33%
    UCR: 49%
    UCM: 82%
