UCLA extension class - 4 credits

Curious if a UCLA extension class worth 4 credits would be considered "a-g" and included as a college course on the UC application? It is not a core class - it is related to film - but because it is taken at UCLA (even though extension), could it be included as a college course, transferable, and an "f" or "g"? Otherwise, I would put it under the Activity section (courses other than a-g) just to show initiative. But because it is worth 4 credits (and one has to have a college course at least worth 3 credits to report under Colleges attended on the UC app), anyone have thoughts? I know that if a course is taken at UCLA (non-extension) and it is a core course (English, Physics) etc - I would indicate this under Colleges, just not sure on an extension course?? It would be great to have it included in the UC GPA. @Gumbymom Note: the transferability always stumps me and how to categorize a class - but I feel comfortable that it would be "g" to be safe, or "f"!

What extension course did you take? If the course is UC transferable, then you can list on the UC application as an a-g course but if not, then it would go under the non a-g course.
I would contact UCLA directly to confirm, but most likely they are not UC transferable nor a-g courses. UCLA extension does not show up on the a-g articulation website as an approved institution.

    From the UCLA extension website:
400 to X 499 courses are post-baccalaureate, credit bearing courses and lecture series designed in content, focus, and presentation style to the standards of instruction used in degree programs. Credit in these courses may be transferable for advanced standing in degree programs in professional studies elsewhere, subject to the procedures of the receiving institution. Students are encouraged to contact the institution to which they are considering transferring in order to determine if X 400 to X 499 UCLA Extension courses will be eligible to transfer in their particular cases. Providing full course descriptions in addition to transcripts can help inform such decisions.

Perhaps @10s4life might have an idea. I prefer to check directly with the source.

@Gumbymom - when you say it does not show up on the UC articulation website do you mean the site where you can enter in Institutions or Courses? I only find community colleges under that. If I type UCLA nothing comes up - and if I type UCSB the same. Curious if I am missing something - I do see Geffen Academy at UCLA, and a few others, but that is not meant for Universities.

UCLA extension is considered a separate entity. I am using the a-g course list website.https://hs-articulation.ucop.edu/agcourselist

I also used assist.org which does not list UCLA extension as an institution nor the courses.

Thank you @Gumbymom. Confirmed through admissions that the particular course is NOT a transferable course - therefore, it will be listed under Other Courses non a-g. Many thanks!
