So I'm a Junior turning into a Senior in the fall & im really worried about colleges in general. Riverside is actually my only hope, by looking at my grades haha. ive been slacking off highschool year & actually started trying this year, haha which is pretty pointless
but anyways i have

GPA: 3.1 <--- gonna go up alittle because junior year second semester isnt added
SAT1 : 1790
SAT2: Korean 740
Chem: 610
im going to try to break a 2000 on sat 1
and korean im FORSURE going to get 800..hopefully.
& im going to try to raise chem and math to at least 700

I have alot of volunteer hours, around 250?
im in NHS & CSF

if you guys can get back to me that would be great!
& please no negative comments! thank you!

er... you're a cali resident, right?
If you are, then just maintain eligibility for the UC system, and you're guaranteed a spot at one campus. That guarantee will probably land you at UCR or UCM.
I think you still stand an ok chance to UCR, as it stands now.

Looking at the posting date, you are now a senior. Your chances should be OK for UCR or UCM, your "eligibility index" is higher than minimum for UC admittance. The unknown is what the budget cut will do to the public California universities. My son is also a senior at NHS and we will see if UCR says Y/N in about 5 hours (after midnight 2/1/2009). Good Luck tonight.

yeah of course you'll get in. The question is will you survive ucr. Most my friends so far have dropped out or went on ap and got kicked out of UCR. Best of luck.

Yeah, you're in at UCR, I believe.

As for the people dropping out, I do know people that have gone on AP (Academic Probation) or even dropped out in their first quarter at UCR. As long as you keep your goals straight and prioritize your time, you'll do fine. If anything, the first quarter is the most important because it sets your GPA. If you set it too low, it's really difficult to raise your GPA. That's why we're in college - for an education first.
