UCSD Jacobs Scholar

Hi Everyone:

I just found out I was admitted as a Jacobs Scholar at UCSD in the Bioengineering major! Who else received it this year? Does anyone have any information about how many Jacobs scholars are chosen and how many eventually enroll? UCSD is at the top of my list now...

I do not have the statistics of how many people are accepted as Jacobs Scholars, but I can tell you that it's a very prestigious scholarship. As you probably already know, San Diego is huge on biotech, so you will likely find many good research, internship and job opportunities if you decide to attend UCSD.

I am a Jacobs Scholar as well. From other posts on this forum it appears around 40 people are selected for the scholarship and about 10 actually attend UCSD - no idea how accurate the other people on this site are though! It was a nice surprise; I didn't even know the scholarship existed.
