Confusion About Official Transcripts

Hi, I recently got off the UCSD waitlist, and am required to send in my official transcripts. I attended two different high schools which both had different grading systems. I am worried, because under my current high school, 3 of my freshman year courses count as A's and under my former, they count as B's (my former school). On my UC application I had listed these grades as A's since they counted as such at my current school and appear like that on my new transcript. Will this affect me in any way or should I be okay, since the school I'm graduating from counts these as A's? (This whole thing has to do with my new school counting anything above a 90% as an A). I just noticed this as I was looking over my old transcript, which I haven't seen since in transferred two years ago.

@Gumbymom I have a problem too, my teacher said that the class I took for algebra 1 was an honor class but in my transcript, it doesn't say honor algebra 1. I put on my application that it was honor algebra 1 and now since I sent my official transcript, I'm just scared that they'll revoke my admission

@iloveluffy: UC's do not consider Algebra 1 as an Honors course that is UC approved, so it will make no difference how you reported the class since it is not a weighted class.

You can check which Honors courses are UC approved for your HS using this website. Just type in your HS name.

    https://hs-articulation.ucop.edu/agcourselist

The most common UC approved Honors courses are Honors Pre-Calc, Honors Physics and Honors Chemistry. Any school can call their classes Honors but for Rigor and Weighting, they have to be UC approved.

Just a tip for other students that may see this thread. When filling out any college application, have the official transcript in front of you to confirm the course names.

@Gumbymom if my transcript doesn't have my full name is this bad? will UCSD make me submit a new transcript with my full name? example is Robin Dallas Smith is my full name and l my transcript says it's Robin Smith (MODERATOR EDITED NAME).

@iLoveLuffy: It should not be an issue as long as there is no other student with the exact same name. Did your test score reports and application have your middle name on them?

@iLoveLuffy: By 2 transcripts, you mean one with Middle Name and one without? If yes, then I would send the 2 transcripts so there is no confusion on UCSD’s end.

@Gumbymom Hi! I've got a question on transcripts too. On my triton checklist portal, the status of my transcripts is displayed as "Received" with a precise date. However, UCSD keeps sending me email notifications urging me to send them official transcripts( from my school on my behalf). Does it mean that I have to arrange my transcripts again or it just a reminder sent to everybody?

@Testarossa: I could confirm with UCSD that your transcripts are actually received, they just might not be reviewed yet. Most likely they are sending reminders to all accepted applicants, but I always like to check for myself.

@Gumbymom Thanks for your reply. So do I need to email them or phone them?

Also, the school names displayed on my UC Application are slightly different than those on the official envelopes (international student, the order of the names are different). For example, I put "San Diego No.5 High School" on my application, but the name on the official envelope is "No.5 High School of San Diego, CA". Already send an email to UCSD but no reply. Will this jeopardize my admission? Thanks!

@Testarossa: I do not think it will be an issue but definitely follow up with UCSD admissions. If you get no reply within the week, you should call.
