NYU vs Syracuse vs UMD

So, I'm looking to do something in journalism, in particular print/online journalism (essentially the writing aspect, not broadcast) and am completely torn between these 3 schools. I'm big into sports and would love a school with big time athletics (which only NYU doesn't have) but I also would like to be near or in a city. I definitely want to study abroad, and would prefer a school strong in things besides journalism if I were to choose something else.
Money is about the same for each school, and all 3 are nowhere near where I live (west coast).

PROS: In NYC, so all the nightlife, food, internship, random events that are offered there. Great academics, nice facilities, great study abroad options, must be a double major in the journalism program so I would explore other interests.
CONS: Student body isn't similar to me like SU or UMD, no school sports/spirit whatsoever, not much of a campus, little community, journalism program not as strong as others

PROS: Awesome journalism program that is respected through and through, student body I can see myself with, huge sports/school spirit, traditional college campus, from what I can tell great study abroad, smaller than the other schools, journalism program requires a minor in something else which I like.
CONS: Not a very good location at all, not sure how strong programs besides journalism are, j school seems more for broadcast journalism, food/facilities/location etc. not as good as the others.

PROS: Great journalism program that is more writing focused, great location next to DC, gorgeous campus, big time sports and school spirit, all the offerings of a traditional college, great facilities, internship opportunities in DC
CONS: Journalism program possibly not as good as SU's, not sure how academics are besides journalism program, nor do I know about their study abroad, more of a number than at the other schools
