Fall 2018 Alternatives: Freshmen Abroad/Freshmen Connection

Hello all,

I was admitted for the Spring 2019 semester at Maryland and I am seriously considering Freshmen Connection as it seems to be the best option for me to attend UMD and isn't really different than being fall admitted. It wouldn't be bad taking classes a little later in the day and on-campus.

I also recently got an email about "Freshman Abroad: Destination Rome & Destination Sydney" and the email mentioned how Spring admits are able to apply. It seems like a good alternative to spend Fall 2018 and I am considering either destination. I might consider applying to both.

I do have a few questions though mainly regarding Freshman Abroad since I haven't seen a recent thread:

What do people think about Freshman Abroad? Has anyone know someone or is someone that has enrolled in the program?
Generally, how is the application process for both programs? Does everyone get in to FC and Freshmen Abroad?
Is it worth it?

If anyone has information other than what is posted on the website for the Freshmen Abroad, please post below. I know FC may be cheaper and may outweigh Freshmen Abroad because of that but this may be a good option for me as it seems like it would be an amazing experience.
