Son is currently a junior at decent ranked school in Virginia . He has not taken sat or act yet but past was an 1180( hoping it will go up); hard to know. He has a 4.1 weighted gpa and a 3.7 unweighted . Took all advanced classes freshman and sophomore year plus one pre ib class for Spanish . He now has 4 Ap classes this year plus ib Spanish . He will have 3 Ap classes next year plus ib Spanish 6.

Accepted into law enforcement program last year ( wants to go into fbi ) volunteer at local math science center during summer .

Would love to know if he has a shot ( he would most likely apply as a psych major ). And if not, where his scores need to be or anything else . Thank you !!

The SAT is a bit low, but, other than that, you should be fine. Psyche is not a competitive major.

great candidate for UMASS to take in specially OOS student. Try to reach a 1300 in SAT or 25+ACT and your son should be fine. All the AP and IB are plusses if they are 4s and/or 5s.
