Is anyone else reapplying? I'm wondering if us who are rolling over an application will get our decision right after the deadline? Also, I have a 3.43 gpa going into this fall semester, and last semester I got four A's but unfortunately I also got a C- (in Italian lol my teacher wasn't very good). Do you think the C- is really going to hurt me? I also wrote an email and sent it to transfer admissions explaining why I got the C- but I'm scared they'll think I'm lying.

@kmalin. Your doing great. You should be very proud of your self. I took the same path with cc first then college. It all works out. But you got to stop blaming a bad teacher for a bad grade. (my kids do this also). What you have to see if a c- even transfers.

Keep them informed. If you have a AO keep them up to date. Make sure everything transfers with their equivalency https://www.ugadmiss.umich.edu/TCE/Public/CT_TCESearch.aspx
Pro hint : get like help with any class your not getting grades that you expect. Michigan will be "that" much harder then anything your doing now.
Have a back up plan. Your on a great course for success now. Keep doing that regardless where you land. 😉

@kmalin. Also in the future you don't need to explain the bad grade and bring it up higher for them to think about. Maybe like focus on your successes, the 4 A'S you got. Then put something like "looks like I have to work harder on Italian." Your taking responsibility for it, not making excuses for it.

@kmalin I’m rolling my application over as well. I currently have a 3.8 gpa with 46 units completed and 15 in progress (all transferable). I’m scared that my low high school stats are still going to affect me. Do you guys think that I’m far enough away from high school that it won’t impact my admissions decision?

@transfer2000. The rules are above. I think it's 52 credits needed to be considered a junior

@Knowsstuff from what I’ve been told, I believe junior standing is between 55-60 units and they include the credits you have in progress in your total credit count when your application is evaluated

I had 57 credits when I first applied, but they still looked at my hs grades. Honestly, my hs grades are probably the reason I didn't get in the first time.

Hi everyone!! I am currently a sophomore in college at an instate school. My current gpa is a 3.6. I had a 3.4 my fall semester and a 3.8 my winter semester. I applied for the fall of 2019 but I got denied then I rolled over my application for the winter 2020 semester. I have 32 credits but only 28 transferrable and I have an incoming of 17 credits this fall. Do I have a chance? Please and thank you, I’m stronger believer in doing what makes you happy so I’ll be praying for everyone!!

If you’ve applied a previous semester/rolled over your application, has anyone’s view decision tab from another semester disappeared? For example, your fall 2019 view decision tab is gone?

You have similar stats as me! When did you roll over your application/send in materials?

Hey guys, If you have your application rolled over from a previous semester, do you generally get a decision earlier?

I did common app and transferred over my application from the last sem. I submitted August 20th after I got my summer grades and sent my new transcript (i also got a notification saying their office had viewed it)
I didn't get any special line that I should reapply in their denial email (likely due to my poor high school grades?) but I resubmitted anyways. I like to think my essays were strong.
did you have to do anything on any uofm website or did you just transfer over the new stuff on common app and submit? I think the earlier you submit it, the better though.

did anyone who’s rolling over an application get this in their previous rejection email ???

“The quality of academic work you demonstrated last semester was impressive, and it was noted in the evaluation of your application.

If your interest in attending the University of Michigan continues, you should continue to build upon the strong academic performance you have shown and update your application for consideration for the next available term. Please request this update in writing prior to the deadline of your desired new term of entry.”

Since I applied in fall 2019 should I submit a transfer update request even though I already submitted my common application again and paid the $70?
    Any advice is appreciated
