UofM typically accepts top 10 from my school, but I am a little worried because of my SAT score. I am an in-state student who attends a private school. I am trying my best to raise SAT score, but it's very hard for me for some reason. Can someone chance me / provide tips to increase my acceptance rate?

Have you tried a practice ACT test to see how you score? Some students find that they are better at one test over the other.

I agree that the lower SAT score is a concern for a school like Michigan.

GPA and rigor are the two most important factors to UMich per their CDS. Maybe try the ACT instead of the SAT?

It's a sample of 4 in-state students from the last cycle in the Deferred/RD thread, but we did see in-state students post their acceptances with the following stats:

    1. 3.9 / 1,390
    2. 3.97 / 1,370
    3. 3.8 / 29 (concordance = 1,330-1,350)
    4. 3.9 / 28 (concordance = 1,300-1,320)

However, we know nothing about the rest of their application(s), like their essays, EC's, etc.. And again, they were deferred from EA into RD. Having said that, being first gen helps tremendously.

EDIT 1: Assuming LSA, not Ross or Engineering.

EDIT 2: These scores were at or near the bottom of what I noted here on CC, which tends to skew high compared to the general population.
