Being that you are a Michigan resident, it's very , very likely you will be admitted. Make sure you let the school know that if admitted, you will definitely enroll. That will seal it.

The acceptance rate for Michigan residents is about 41%. As mentioned above, you're likely to be admitted, subject to how good your essays and recommendations are.

BTW, UMich doesn't use weighted GPA.

    I’m currently a junior so I’m predicting my gpa. With 3 Bs I get a 3.8 even

@UofMGrindSZN. What is your unweighted and your other stats? Don't worry about some "b" a. You don't need to be perfect to get into any college. Write a great essay, visit if your local and show interest

My stats are listed above. However, my gpa is going to be somewhere in between 3.8-3.85. My freshmen grades were terrible.

    A few things.

    1. I think you should be fine with a 3.80-3.85, since you're an instate applicant.

    2. While uwGPA and course rigor (10 AP's!) are considered "most important," the 1,550 SAT score helps a lot. Hopefully, some of those AP's were were the "big" ones such as Chem, Bio, AB and/or BC, Physics, USH, Comp & Lang, Lit, etc.

    3. Interning at UMich, to me at least, shows "demonstrated interest," which is "considered" in admissions per the CDS.

Did you take any subject tests? If so, what? And what were the scores?

Lastly, what's the record of your HS in getting seniors admitted to UMich? Do you know the yield of your HS?

You don't have to have a 4.0 to get in. Your SAT score will be very, very helpful. What part of Michigan are you from? If you are from the UP, I can tell you right now that you will definitely get in.

SW Michigan? The most competitive area, but still I wouldn't worry about it. The university will want your SAT score for its average. Just don't do anything stupid between now and application time (like get arrested or get suspended from school or fail a course.).

Is it okay I get 2 Bs junior year? If I do it averages out to a 3.82 assuming a 4.0 first semester senior year

Your asking the same question. Your GPA won't be the reason you get in or not. At this point do your best, write great essays and have some fun
