summer internship, important?

I'm a junior in high school and hope to attend the U of M. I have an opportunity to do a summer internship in a lab at University of Texas this summer. If I did this, would it help me substantially with admissions at the U?

u shd call and ask the admission officer in the faculty u want to go to

the most ppl can tell u here is: it'll help but the extent of benefit is never discussed in detail because ppl dont know at all

but they go by the rule, the more stuff u do, the better it is provided ur grades meet the requirement
