In other words, does anyone know someone who has ever been admitted OOS with a 30 ACT and or 1340 SAT(ACT equivalent)

I know OOS kids here with statistics comparable to yours. I even know some with worse numbers, so I think you certainly could get accepted. When the admissions counselors here evaluate an applicant, they look at the entire package: grades, scores, extracurriculars, community service, essays, recommendations, etc. You can easily overcome relatively weak test scores if you took the most difficult classes offered at your school, did well in them, took on leadership roles in organizations, and/or wrote strong essays. I can't say you're a lock by any means, but I think you definitely have a chance.

    Best of luck.

    Go Heels!

thank you collegemn! I am hoping for the best. Thanks for your input. I gent nervous because I see the CC statistics such as SATs and ACTs that overshadow mine and worry that my chances are at zero.

Carolina cares that you're involved and that you can write a good essay. I know OOS kids who didn't get in with a 34, and I know OOS kids here with 29s and 30s. You'll be alright.

Born a Tarheel, by any chance did you go to Thomas Jefferson or a Virginia Governor's school? Our school has had students accepted to Yale, Princeton, UVA, W&M, and West Point but none to UNC. Any suggestions?
