OOS- Chance me please

Ok so I'm a middle class white male from a pretty small public school in Texas. I've always had a strong interest in UNC and now that it is almost time to start applying, I'm wondering if applying would be worth my time. I talked to a professor from UNC when I was at Boys State this June and he said most OOS students that get accepted are very elite students. I've got a 32 composite ACT and will graduate 1st in my class of roughly 100 students. I'm involved in most of the clubs at my school (though there aren't too many), and I know I can write an impressive essay if needed.
If there is any crucial information that I left off, please just ask. I'm looking for an honest answer and any tips for improving my application. Thanks!
