I have a 3.5 gpa and Im realizing more and more every day that I have no shot at UNC. I will have 56 credits by the end of may 2013 (looking to transfer in for fall 2013) do I even have a shot? I go to a cc and am oos so a 3.5 isnt that great..but any help would be great!

I don't pretend to know too much about transferring (since I'm applying first year), but I have done a fair amount of reading on this site.
It is my understanding, and I could be very wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure I read that OOS status matters a whole lot less for transfers and may not even be taken into consideration at all, so if true, that is in your favor.
A 3.5 GPA is pretty darn good, and I think that in general, most schools are very encouraging to CC students who want to further their education.
What are your HS stats like, in terms of SAT or ACT?
Bottom line, I think you have a fairly decent shot of transferring, which as you know, is very different from trying to apply directly into first year out of HS and OOS. Best of luck.
