How to get off the waitlist?

I was recently waitlisted at my dream school. What can I do to get in off the waitlist? Just for context, it was at UNC Chapel Hill and I am an OOS student.

Hope that enough admitted students similar to you do not matriculate.

It looks like UNC-CH has been good at estimating their yield the last few years. They have taken 156, 22, and 35 students from the waitlist the last 3 years. They have between 2.3-3.7k applications accept a spot on the WL each year.

To answer the question on what you can do...

Send a letter of continued interest telling them that it’s your first choice and you will absolutely attend if admitted.

And send any positive supporting information (grades, awards, etc.) that weren’t in the initial application.

You posted this question twice this morning in this forum. As I said earlier, changes are extremely slim. It is best to get excited about another college. Best of luck.
