Why are you trying to transfer? Did you get tired of staring at the bricks? :P

Yeah, omg the bricks! Well UNC was my first choice last year and it didn't happen but i didn't give up hope. I worked on my grades and i hope i will get in this time. State is ok but unc is WAY better.

I hope to see you all there in the fall!

I read in the old version of this forum that 3.3 and above is considered "competitive." So, to me, that means if you have at least a 3.3 and good additional credentials you're in a very good spot. Of course, I have no way to verify the accuracy of this; the guy that said it did say he talked to an admissions officer though.

What are your stats right now? I currently attend UNC and I have a friend wanting to transfer here next year. Just seeing what the chances are. Thanks.

I have a 3.67 with 57 hours, at the end of this semester I'll have 71 (junior transfer). My last two semesters were both 4.0s, honors science classes, calculus, etc., but I've already transfered once from UGA to Univ. South Carolina.

For junior transfers I've heard various things, 3.5 and up you're definitley in, avg. applicant gpa's being 3.2-3.4. I also know of two people with 3.8's who tried to transfer as juniors who didn't get in, but they both had GEDs. One of those people had also already transfered from a CC to NYU, so I'm worried the transfering twice hurt him. (and could hurt me...)

For sophmore transfers its MUCH harder... they mostly take all the 1450 SAT kids who didn't get in out of state from HS. I know people who had decent stas HS and 4.0's their freshman semesters who didn't get in as sophmore transfers.
