Any Shot For Oos??

myoneandonlymyoneandonly Registered User Posts: 762 Member
Any shot for an OOS white male with a 1300 (700M, 600CR)? B average, mostly all Honors level and 3 AP classes this coming year. Varsity team, Pres. of language club, few other ec's. No fin. aid required.

Looking to apply as a Latin Major in the Classics Dept. of Arts and Sciences.

Any opinions out there? Thanks.

OOS is a tough admit for anyone. Being male could help a bit (no guarantees here) since the ratio is close to 60/40 female to male. That said, your best shot would be to apply early, it's not binding. Spend a lot of time on your essays, they are very important at UNC, and make sure that those recommending you will give you great recs.

UNC admissions is need blind so that aspect isn't going to impact things either way.

    Good luck!

Any chance to bring up your CR score any more? That would make your chances better....

I would also use the extra essay question to talk about problems/challenges you have overcome....(maybe being a white male applying for employment/college just kidding)....somehow distinguish yourself from the other 14999 applications they read.

A B average is pretty worrisome...
