@redy44‌ Were you also offered housing? That's the only tricky thing about getting into ND is the housing.

@rdlp123‌ yes I was luckily offered on campus housing. I have heard that it is easier to get on campus housing in the spring semester rather than fall. Probably because of the large amount of incoming freshman who are guaranteed housing in the fall.

@redy44‌ This is nerve-racking, my grades aren't complete yet. Sigh. How long after your submitted your final grades did it take to receive your decision?

@rdlp123‌ I sent in my official transcript with updated grades on the 19th of December. It was sent by mail so it took alittle while. I was called by an admissions officer who said they had just finished reviewing the application on the 24th. The letter should not come for acouple more days, but they will call you as soon as possible. Sorry to hear about the late grades, hopefully it will be a quick turnaround.

@redy44‌ I got in! Got my letter this morning by UPS. For some reason I can't log into the confirm page yet. Still waiting for my transfer evaluation and housing info too, but who cares, I got in!

I am applying to both Emory and Notre Dame, and I was wondering why you are trying to transfer from Emory to Notre Dame? I am leaning more Emory, so I wonder what makes you want to transfer?

@csglen‌ Well, I have both social and academic reasons for choosing ND over Emory. Socially, Emory has a very individualistic community - never did I feel as if I was part of something greater. There's very little opportunities for the student body to come together and enjoy being around one another. Many Emory students turn to partying, drug use, and heavy drinking to "have fun," which I admit can lead to quite a night but do you really always want to do that or be around that? I remember the only time I ever felt like I was part of a campus was during the snowfall in Atlanta and Emory students were sledding and having snowball fights. After that, it was back to the normal you're on your own kind of thing. Also, there's no big time sports at Emory. The basketball and soccer teams and especially the tennis team are all very decent, but barely anyone ever takes interest in coming to watch. If you're happy doing your own thing and excited by the prospects of research and such, then I guess Emory is a good fit. For me, I want big football, rooting crowds, A REAL HOMECOMING, but most importantly a cohesive and engaging scholar community. I want to walk away from my college experience with both intellectual and intrinsic growth and nurture my interest for social and public service, and I think ND is the best environment for me to do that. When I received my letter from ND it said, "Welcome Home," and even from just that I already felt like I was an inseparable peace of ND's family. Though I am a practicing Catholic, it's not really the religious side that draws me to ND, but more or less ND's mission to give back to and reach out to the greater global community, something that I find lacking in the general psyche at Emory.

@redy44‌ Have you confirmed your spot yet?

    Has anyone gotten rejected yet?

Is anyone having trouble logging into the confirmation page to pay your deposit? I am. Every time I try to log in it says that the student ID and date of birth combo cannot be found so I can't pay my deposit.

@rdlp123‌ I have not confirmed my spot yet. I am still waiting on news from financial aid which should come in on the 5th. Hmmm if you are having trouble I would call Mrs. Camillieri. Her number is on the ND website. She is the transfer counselor and is extremely helpful when it comes to questions like that. H

However, her office will most likely not be open until the 5th and I know waiting for that could be tough.

@redy44‌ Are you still able to log in though?
