International student status will help a lot. However, I think in your context you really need to focus on writing a good essay. I have an Indian friend who told me that when his cousin (who lives in Bombay) was applying to U.S. schools, she was a top-tier student but was denied from a lot of places, mostly because in India they do not emphasize the importance of a well-written personal statement. I'm not saying that this applies to you, by any means, but ND takes pride in how much it focuses on the essay so make sure you do a good job.

Relatively speaking, man, I don't really know what the average criteria is for international students as far as stats. My friend's cousin had a 1780 on her SATs, and got into UChicago, Emory, and NYU...but denied from places like Tufts, Vassar, Williams, Ivies, etc. Her boyfriend had an 1830 and got into Wharton at UPenn. It's just tougher to say.

I think your best bet is to simply stick with the averages. Sorry. Make sure everything is just in balance.
